  • Booklist Reviews : Booklist Reviews 2024 May #2
Presenting everyday scenes from around the world, Saks reminds readers in rhyming lines that on our interconnected planet, everything that happens affects others, even those we've never met. A helpful reminder for young readers is that even things that might be unpleasant can have some use—the rain that ruins a picnic, for instance, waters crops. Though some of the verses are slightly strained, they still joyfully emphasize the idea of our world as a community, as do the gouache and watercolor illustrations depicting children and adults in various climates playing together and relaxing with family. A closing map identifies the locations featured in the book. Preschool. Copyright 2024 Booklist Reviews.
  • School Library Journal Reviews : SLJ Reviews 2024 March

PreS-K—A tribute to our connectedness informs the youngest generation of our need to take care of the earth. The poetic text relates the ways we are a human family and how "we depend upon our planet and upon each other." VERDICT A lovely introduction to the concept of community.
